Hi, I’m Lynda Sandoval! I’ve been in Fredonia since June 2013, and I’m looking forward to bringing my teaching voice (and the voices of all my awesome YU teachers!) to WNY. I came to yoga via a circuitous path. Prior to yoga, the only sport I ever connected with was powerlifting, and I competed in it quite successfully for several years, leaving the sport ranked 12th nationally in my weight class. I also left with a LOT of strength, zero flexibility, and stiff joints, but aside from that, what I loved about powerlifting was that feeling of competing ONLY with yourself, not with other people. Yoga shares that introspective quality with none of the competitiveness. I spent a lot of years resisting my sister’s urgings to do yoga, but once I FINALLY tried it, I never looked back. I realized everything my sister had told me was true: you don’t need to be flexible to do yoga, or coordinated, and when you are the busiest and most stressed? That’s the perfect time to practice. Once I realized how amazing and welcoming and healing a regular yoga practice was, I knew I wanted to share the magic with others, so off I went to yoga teacher training.

Hello, I’m Tony. I’ve been practicing Qi Gong (CHEE-kung) for over 40 years and have taught at yoga studios, martial arts dojos, health clubs, and more. Qi Gong is a practice suitable for people of all ages and abilities and provides tremendous health benefits and peace of mind. I’m looking forward to bringing this valuable practice to the members at YU.
Hi everyone, I’m Lin Liedke and I delighted to be back on the schedule teaching Mat Pilates once again. I have been teaching fitness in one form or another since 1975. I have been certified as a Group Fitness Instructor with multiple specialty certifications, as well as a Personal Trainer. I have also been certified as a Mat Pilates Instructor and have been teaching Mat Pilates locally for almost 20 years. I still teach weight lifting classes and participate in Cross Fit and Zumba several times each week, so, personally, I NEED Pilates to help keep me flexible as well as keeping my core strong! I hope you’ll consider giving Pilates classes a try. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you on the mats!
Hi, I am Nancy Lombardo. Born and raised in Jamestown, NY, I left at the age of 17 to join the Army as a Military Police Officer. I was relocated to Oklahoma prior to my discharge where I became a Police Officer for the Lawton Police Department. In 2016, I retired as a Detective with 28 years of service. I now live in Lily Dale. I moved back home to complete my life circle. I would like to share a personal side of me about my passion for fitness. In 2000, after gaining weight and fighting depression from my parents’ deaths, I trained for and finished my first marathon in honor of them. I found that I had a knack as an endurance athlete, along with losing 60 lbs. I have been a distance runner ever since. In 2005, I suffered two bulging disks and had one surgically repaired. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and was told my running days were over. A year later, I ran the San Antonio Marathon. In 2013, I blew my right knee out and again had surgery. I was once again told my running days were over. I had a difficult time coming back from this injury. I knew I needed to incorporate different cross training to build my strength to be able to run again. I was not a big believer in yoga until I tried it. I began to understand that it was not only a physical challenge, but also a spiritual journey. With yoga, I began to see major changes in my body, including strength, muscle tone and flexibility. Yoga also helped tremendously in dealing with the stresses I faced everyday.
After I retired, I felt so passionately about yoga that I became an instructor. I understand overcoming obstacles and injuries. I also know a thing or two about dealing with major stress.
I’d like to thank Yoga Underground for this opportunity to teach and work with each of you. Yoga is for anyone that wants to try it. It’s all about moving, breathing and taking some time for yourself. I’d love to help you walk through your life’s journey with a little more ease. Oh, and in case you are wondering; I’m still running!!

Hello everybody! I am so happy to join the great group of people at Yoga Underground and that this journey has begun! The basics…I am an active mother of three hungry and fast moving boys. My husband and I moved to Fredonia in 2001 because we needed a middle point for our jobs at that time and I had great memories of spending the summer of ‘86 here with Summer School of the Arts on the college campus. I was a School Counselor for ten years before staying home for ten years with babies. I now work part-time providing Employee Assistance and Coordinating Employee Wellness at Fredonia State University. I swam competitively for about sixteen years and really only knew fitness to be a “go like hell” approach. I had heard about yoga, but for a long time dismissed it as something that wouldn’t be intense enough to keep me interested. So, at age 36, and having sustained some major injuries which changed my body, I heard the word yoga again and thought…”Hmmmm, maybe.”
That was nine years ago and what I have learned has been life altering. There is an intensity with yoga that is different, but certainly present. I am challenged. I continue to be interested and I am so thankful that I found yoga…or yoga found me, right where I was. I have a Practical Yoga Instructor Certification through AFAA, Child Light Yoga Teacher Training, and look forward to growing in my practice and eventually completing RYT200.
Hi, I’m Kim, and I’m so excited to be teaching Barre Fitness at Yoga Underground. A little over a year ago, I discovered Barre classes when I spent every Tuesday night taking my daughter to an art class in Buffalo. With two hours to spare, I found a great Barre class to take and I was hooked! I received my Booty Barre instructor training in Pittsburgh, PA and I’m excited to bring this class to our area. Teaching has played a major part of my life for the past 25 years and I am lucky to be a part of a great middle school team in Fredonia. When I’m not busy teaching or working out, I am Mom to Connor, age 18, who is attending Edinboro University and Caroline, age 16, and a junior at Fredonia High School. When I have the time and the money, I love to travel and was able to knock two places off my bucket list: Italy and Spain. Besides my love for travel, I also love to cook, read, learn about wine and I’m always interested in trying something new when it comes to exercise.

I operate on feelings–facts bore me! I’m married and have four children, which makes keeping the house clean impossible and the running and yoga necessary! Seriously, I feel I connect with others when I teach yoga. Love the mind, body, spirit connection. I am 200-hour Yoga Certified through Aura Wellness Center
